ESET offers a range of plans for Windows, macOS and Android. The plans include a no-cost one that is great for basic security, whereas the more expensive options include features like password management and parental controls and encryption of data. The most expensive plans include the gaming mode which blocks unauthorized access to the hardware of your computer while you play.
Installation is quick and easy. It won’t overload your computer with unnecessary software. There are a few additional settings to tweak however the majority of tools and features are clearly marked on the interface’s left sidebar.
A brand new feature called Connected Home Monitor provides an easy-to-read representation of your network and all the devices connected to it. You can use it to test your network for vulnerabilities, such as open ports or weak passwords for routers.
A pop-up will appear each time you insert the USB device. You can decide to scan the drive immediately or set the program to do it automatically, and should you choose not to perform a full scan, you can still launch an on-demand scan.
Advanced users will appreciate the ability to choose how much of the suite is being scanned. You can specify the number of folders and files that the program must scan and also specific items like networks and boot sectors. You can also specify the depth to which the program must scan archives, in case you wish to omit certain types of files from the initial scan.
